Memories of my younger brother, Roger by Ray Monk

Edith & I were deeply saddened to hear of the loss of Roger.

Bearing in mind, there were six years between us, Rog & I spent many happy times walking our dog, Rex, an Airedale Terrier over Plumstead Common.  As young boys, we had lots of adventures and got up to all sorts of mischief.

Whilst we may only have met up once or twice a year, there was always a lot of reminiscing about the old days from our childhood, Roger’s travels in the Merchant Navy, mutual friends and our careers over the years.

Rog was always good company, a great story-teller with a cheeky sense of humour.  We shared a love of WWII books especially author’s personal accounts.

He will be greatly missed.  God bless, Rog.
