Memories of Uncle Roger

Created by Gill 5 months ago

I've lots of lovely memories of Uncle Rog when we were growing up.  I recall one Christmas Day, Dad & Uncle Rog digging our car out of the snow so we could drive home after a lengthy game of Monopoly.  No-one realised it had snowed until we opened the front door to leave. Another memory - Uncle Rog taking us for a spin in his new Rover Vitesse - I loved that car!

I share Carole's memories - five little girls all trying to snuggle up on the sheepskin rug in front of the fire in the front room and dining tables piled high with food either at Auntie Olive & Uncle Roger's or Mum & Dad's.  Good times.

And then there were the lovely evenings spent with Jenny & Uncle Rog.  Dad & Uncle Rog would reminisce about so many things - the conversation would jump from one story to another - I could listen for hours. Us 'youngsters' would leave them just after midnight and they'd still be chatting into the wee small hours.

I'll hear his laugh & see his smile for always.  We will miss you, Uncle Rog.  Rest peacefully.  With love, Gill & David x
